Conservation framing is a professional way of framing a piece if artwork. The Jersey is double T hinged to an acid free mounting board with water reversible cotton linen tape. This allows the jersey to expand and contract without waving. A glass front is installed with UV protection to keep the Jersey’s colors from fading to the light. All materials within the frame are acid-free

Why acid-free?

Sunlight can cause acidic products to break down and produce small amounts of acid. This acid creates a brownish haze and dark brown spots that are known as acid burn. These are permanent stains that cannot be removed. The acid released will also disintegrate the fabric within the Jersey, causing stretching and color fading that could ruin a display.
